(Three Photographs) A photoblog: all things happen in threes

“Are we still in Brooklyn?”

Days are getting longer, the temperature is getting warmer and my feet itch for adventures. I took the G to Prospect Park with two friends yesterday and just walked around until sunset. We came upon this are with big trees, tall grass and a huge lake. For a moment, I felt like I wasn’t in Brooklyn or even New York. It was nice.

Nemo found us

Hey all, first real snow storm (woo!). Despite the biting cold and strong winds, the snow is still beautiful. I walked around the neighborhood and everything looks different. Let me just say that the Pratt Brooklyn campus, with its sculpture garden, is absolutely beautiful blanketed in the snow. If you’re in New York, you should come see it! But for now, you can look at this set of photos – enjoy!

P.S. Chinatown is so slushy and wet and kind of gross in this weather.

Last semseter in drawing

As some of you may know, I now attend Pratt Institute in Brooklyn which is part of the reason why I’ve been MIA for the last several months. On that note, I’d like to share some of the things that I was up to in those months. Lo and behold, some pictures of my first semester drawing final crit.

Resolutions

So I’m a little late (sorry) but it’s better late than never right? First time posting a set of self portraits here. These were taken and edited on my iPhone 4s so the quality might be a bit shoddy but there are 3 of my 2013 resolutions. Also follow me on instagram: @ma642

Light

The Highline at Chelsea is quite magical at night. You’re in the middle of the city but it kind of feels like you’re away from it all for a bit. The city lights can be as distracting as it is dazzling but the lights on the Highline are subtle and simple, quietly beautiful. Here are some shots from a long cold walk one evening a few days back (P.S. these were taken at 5pm – it gets dark so early now whuuuut??)

New day, New home, New York

Ladies and Gents, I present to you views from the Brooklyn bridge at sunrise.

New York in Black and White (Part I)

Since I literally have hundreds of photos from my New York trip in the summer of 2011, there will be many posts about the Big Apple scattered throughout this blog. This is part one

St. Patrick's Cathedral stands out among the modern skyscrapers in the heart of the city

at the sculpture garden of the MOMA. I think many people never notice this window because they never look up

Chelsea - because what's New York without post-ups and grafitti? and because I love Chelsea
